Beginning of the End

My last day of work was Saturday- blech- a 6-day week. Since I had 6th-grade students, they graduated last Wednesday and haven't had to come to school since then (?!?) but I did do a lot of subbing. Last week was a busy week life-wise and I'm still under the weather so I was completely beat by the time I got home at 9:30 on Saturday night.
I'm looking forward to a couple of days of sleep and cleaning and then hopefully can do some subbing but we'll see. I might just be a lady of leisure for the next couple of months.
I will be making at least one trip out of Taiwan to keep myself legal, now that my work permit is expiring. Not sure where yet- Hong Kong and Bali are the frontrunners.
It's finally gotten obscenely hot. I'd thought I was more used to the summer heat but it turns out all the rain kept things cool. It's in the 90s pretty much all day and barely gets below that at night. The "feels like" is always something like 104 during the day. The sun is just so darn strong. So I've got to start preparing frozen water bottles for when I go out and get my system of fans going a little better. Lots of time to do that tomorrow! And I do have AC in my bedroom so I've been spending a lot of time there...

I'm a 5th grade teacher in Oklahoma, and came across your blog. I'm wondering how did you end up teaching English in Taiwan.
