Christmas in Taiwan

Because a good post is a timely post, eh?

Seriously, I took these pictures around Christmastime but I haven't gotten around to posting them...

The pre-Christmas time was a strange time in Taiwan. As you can see, they decorated for Christmas in my apartment building. The day they put the trees up there were about a hundred Chinese people arguing about how best to arrange the decorations. Most places were decorated for Christmas. At my school the kids had a contest to decorate mini-trees. A lot of clerks in the stores had on Santa hats, too.
At Hess they always listen to an English-language radio station and they were always playing Christmas songs on there- your classic Bing Crosby and Mariah Carey Christmas songs.
People also gave Christmas gifts. But they don't get the day off work.
